How To Make Your Home Feel As Summery As It Is Outside

3 ways of bringing summer into your home

The weather in May was pretty indifferent, but June has been a completely different story, and we are really hoping that the nice weather doesn’t desert us over the summer.

A scorching hot summer would be welcomed by almost everyone after the last year or so, and because it also tends to put a smile on our faces, more so than when it’s grim and miserable outside.

When the sun makes an appearance this summer, get outside, if you can. But if you can’t, you can still have the summer spill into your home.

Provide it with an open invitation into your interiors by taking these steps:

Clean your windows

How is the sun meant to get in if your windows are dirty? Give them a thorough clean, internally and externally, either with your own fair hands, or just put this job in the capable hands of your window cleaner.

If your curtains block out any light when they’re open, due to them being thick, you could always exchange them for thinner, lighter curtains for the summer months.

Too hot in the house at times? That won’t happen if you have energy efficient windows installed.

Install bi-folding doors

Investing in a bi-folding door will be one of the best home improvements you ever make. They will come into their own during the summer as they have tons of glass and hardly any framework, meaning lots of light will rush through them.

Even if you only have a 2-pane design, the opening of a bi-fold will eliminate a wall and give you a great blend of the indoors and outdoors at the same time.

Any opening you create with a bi-fold will also fill the space it’s situated with fresh air, keeping you nice and cool.

Add some nature

Being amongst nature can induce calm and make you feel a lot less stressed about things. You don’t have to go into the garden or head for the nearest park to get close to it.

Just install some houseplants in different rooms around the house, such as succulents, orchids and ferns, proudly displaying them on countertops, floors and tables.

Houseplants can also leave you with cleaner indoor air as they can remove air pollutants, one of several health benefits offered by them.
