How do you care for aluminium doors?
Our aluminium doors are very low maintenance but do benefit from regular cleaning.
Part of why aluminium doors have become so popular over the years is that they require virtually no maintenance to keep them looking their best. That being said, we do recommend semi regularly inspecting your door to keep on top of any issues that may arise.
At the end of summer, before the weather changes for the worse, we recommend inspecting your weatherseals to make sure everything is still in top condition. Staying on top of elements like this will help prevent any issues from occurring before they become serious.
We recommend regularly cleaning your front door to prevent the build up of dirt and debris, which can mask potential damage and prevent the finish from looking its best. To clean your door, all you need is some mild soap, a soft cloth and some warm water. Simply wipe away any dust that’s accumulated to have your door looking like new.
Take care around fixtures and fittings so as not to scratch the finish on your letter plate and handle. Once you’ve finished cleaning the door, we recommend lightly buffing the fixtures with a dry soft cloth to restore their shine.
Do aluminium doors rust or peel?

Are aluminium doors colder than UPVC?

It’s a complete myth that aluminium doors are actually colder than their UPVC counterparts.
This myth comes from the old belief that because aluminium doors are made from metal, which naturally conducts heat, they will allow all the heat in your home to escape. This is not the case. While older aluminium doors, those made before 2000, could have features that made them more susceptible to the cold, modern aluminium doors do not suffer with this issue.
